What is Medical Tourism?
Simply put, Medical Tourism is the practice of individuals traveling abroad or domestically for health care services. Perhaps a more accurate term would be "Medical Traveler". Individuals may choose to travel for heath care services for various reasons, chief among them, the cost of the service, the availability of the service in their home country, insurance issues (lack of coverage for a particular procedure) or extended wait periods.
Why hire a lawyer?
Typically the participants in the health travel process will include the physician, the hospital and what is commonly referred to as a medical tourism facilitator - think of the latter as a specialized travel agent for medical travelers. All of these parties have one thing in common. They all have a vested interest in the prospective patient/client having the procedure or service, an obvious conflict of interest. As your lawyer our firm has no vested interest in whether, you, the prospective patient/client, has the procedure or service abroad, domestically, or at all. This provides a vital layer of protection that the represented medical traveler has over the unrepresented medical traveler.
It is our goal and our vision to provide that layer of protection and to act as an unbiased counselor and advocate to, you, the prospective patient/client.
Specializing in the representation of individuals considering traveling abroad or domestically for health care services (Medical Tourism) and the representation of medical tourism facilitators.
